I think I haven’t mentioned it before… but during our stay in Sri Lanka we managed to stay in four (!) different hotels, and one of those was paid for the entire holiday. Yes, I know, it sounds silly, weird and impractical. But as they say, wisdom comes with the experience. And next time we come to Sri Lanka, we are going to plan our vacation and accommodation differently. But for now, I can share the valuable information with you about the places we stayed in.
Even though I have told you all what I possibly could about our holiday in Sri Lanka, there are still two things left unsaid. Things that are worth mentioning. Food and accommodation. And in this post I will share our restaurant, café and bar experience.
This will be the last post about our road trip adventure across Sri Lanka. I feel a bit sad because these posts made me relive all the wonderful moments we had in this beautiful country. But I’m also happy that I can share my stories and travel experience with you guys. As Nelly Furtado’s song goes: “All good things come to an end”. But not just yet.
Next stop on our wish list was Royal Botanic Garden. It’s located in Peradeniya, which is about 5.5 km to the west of the city of Kandy. Once again prices for tourists were the same as for locals… only multiplied by ten. But this time I can tell you without hesitation that it was worth every penny!
That same day we visited Oak Ray Handcrafted Wood Carvings. To be honest I was surprised to read so many negative reviews on TripAdvisor about this place. Some people even say something like: “don’t get out from the car if your driver takes you here!”.
