There are three Tallink hotels in Tallinn: Tallink Spa & Conference Hotel, Tallink City Hotel and Tallink Express Hotel. I’ve stayed in all of them more than once. And in this post I would like to share my accommodation experience.
I’ll start with the cheapest one, 3-star hotel Tallink Express. It’s a pretty basic hotel with standard rooms. Nothing fancy but it has everything an average tourist might need: free Wi-Fi, restaurant, business corner and children’s play area. Starting price – 35 EUR per night; it includes Continental breakfast buffet. I’ve tried Continental breakfasts in many different cities and countries around Europe, and I must say that Tallink Express breakfast is one of the best I’ve had.
I could say that I’m a regular at Tallink Express.
But that’s not all, you can also enjoy the relaxing water center Aqua Spa for a special price, which you’ll find just next door in the Tallink SPA & Conference Hotel.
Another good thing about this hotel is its location. It’s close to Port of Tallinn and walking distance from the historic Old Town:
The 4-star hotel Tallink Spa & Conference is basically located in the same building as the Express Hotel. But it offers wider variety of room types, from Standard to Premium Suite. Which makes it perfect for all kind of stays: romantic getaway, family holiday or business trip. Starting price – 55 EUR per night.
Standard rooms are a bit smaller than the Tallink Express ones, but they are much more comfortable; plus, few have a little balcony with a sea view.
One of the main reasons I like to come here is the Aqua Spa: saunas (Finnish sauna and steam saunas), indoor and outdoor pools, as well as children’s pool, hot tubs and pool bar. Entrance to this Oasis is free of charge for the hotel guests.
The 4-star Tallink City Hotel is located in the city center and few minutes’ walk from the medieval Old Town. One of the best shopping malls in Tallinn “Viru Keskus” is just across the street. The hotel offers accommodation in spacious rooms, from the Standard to Royal Suite. Each room has a minibar, safe, AC and free Wi-Fi. Starting price – 67 EUR per night.
Unfortunately, I do not have any photos from the Standard room; last time I stayed in the Double de Luxe room, and that’s how it looks:
It was also possible to choose different pillows from their menu:
I ordered a buckwheat to try but for some reason I got a regular down pillow instead. I didn’t complain about it because I felt tired and just wanted to sleep.
You should also keep in mind that you’ll have to pay 25 EUR deposit (can pay with Debit or Credit card), which you will get back in a day or so (depending on your bank) after the check-out.
Overall I’m not too pleased with my stay in Tallink City hotel; one of the receptionist was rude and unfriendly. Not very professional. So, my question is: why to pay more when I can have a much better service and experience in Tallink Spa & Conference Hotel or Tallink Express Hotel?
Hope you enjoyed it!
